Welcome to my world

So, today i had my first driving lesson- most terrifying experience of my life!!
Although we only went to an industrial park, i should not be let loose on the roads alone! And do you know what the hardest part of it was? Steering! I couldn't steer to save my life, starting the car, changing gears- all fine, but when it came to even attempting to turn a corner i almost crashed into a giant red lorry!
The first thing my instructor said to me before telling me how well i had done "well we almost died, but shit happens."- what a reassuring thing to hear ey?

Anyways, i thought i'd do my OOTD saying as i feel it's an important memory to mark in my life and what better way to do it but on my fashion blog?!
Today i wore my new white tee with some waxed high waisted leggings (these are a great twist on leather pants and avoid you from getting sweaty thighs! yuk!) Although i have heels on in my photo i did change to some more practical black slip-on vans before "cruising" behind the wheel.

Shoes, leggings, top and coat- New look
Bag- Bershka

If you have any tip and tricks for driving please do let me know- i need all the help i can get!

Wishlist 2014

I've decided to start doing a 'wishlist' to introduce everyone into my sense of style and hopefully to show whats in the shops lately- if you like it too then great! I'm glad i could help. The first thing on my wishlist is this Topshop Drop waist tunic, i think this is the perfect dress to introduce winter into spring, as it is quite grungey i love the peplum waist band with a twist. The navy stripes and baggy style allow you to still cover up that extra Christmas weight you might be carrying. You may want to style it with shoes like these to give yourself extra height if you're of the shorter variety like me!

Step into spring

As spring gets nearer and the blossom appears on the trees, so do our bare legs and florals galore. So i thought i'd do a "spring musts" post and introduce everyone to my spring beauty products i go back to every year.

First of all: make-up. Now i'm not very brave when it comes to dramatic eyes and trying something new so when the weather starts to change i often go for more pinks and not nudes, the Revlon colour stay (12 hour) eyeshadows are my guilty pleasure- i often don't buy eyeshadows as i constantly use my Urban Decay naked pallet. These shades are quite pigmented but you can build them up as much as you like, the soft champagne shade is great for highlighting your brow bone and the darker maroon shade is perfect for contouring. This pallet is 05 blushed wines. In winter i tend to stay away from pink blusher and aim for bronzing products to give me a bit of colour, but this Mac pro longwear in 'stay pretty' is a must for spring- as you can tell i've almost used this blusher to the bone as it just gives your cheeks that fresh pinched look as if you've been out in the chilly mornings. Lastly is the Mac satin lipstick in the colour 'snob' i cant remember the last time i bought a pink lipstick so this is a perfect re-introduction to the shade. I think Mac lipsticks are perfect for shoving on once and not having to re-apply for a few hours, i don't even have to talk about how good they are- as you all ready know!

I've applied the Revlon eyeshadows, i used the bottom shade and the two top ones (the champagne colour to highlight my brows). And i just think it gives that 'pretty in pink' girly look to a sweet outfit.
Next on the list is Nails, these two shades are my go-to shades for a cute and preppy look. My favourite thing to do to add a personal edge to these shades is daisy nail art- pretty white petals and gold glitter centres. The shade on the left is Revlon nail enamel in the colour 'eclectic' this is a combination of duck egg blue and a pastel green. The other shade is BarryM Gelly in the colour 'prickly pear'. Both colours are right on trend as pastels are all you see! They go on beautifully and both give a gel manicure effect.
Last but not least is the return of the sunglasses! Now you know when you're driving along, turn a corner and BAM you get blinded by the sun? I like to keep a pair of sunglasses in my bag from ow until the end of summer- i have my favourite Steve Madden specs of course but i saw these beauties in Primark at a bargain price of £2.00. Now i've owned Primark sunglasses before and they actually are good protection from the sun, because of the price it doesn't matter if they snap or a lens pops out whilst in the depths of your bag! I thought the tortoise shell frames would go with basically any outfit you need to pair them with.
What are your Spring must haves? Please introduce me to new shades/products you enjoy using.
xoxo

Time to get organized!

Like many, one of my new year's resolutions of 2014 was to be more organized! Now so far this is going quite well, the only thing left on my list was my make-up. DUN DUN DUNNN.

First things first, i wanted to able to see the majority of my make-up as i seem to buy a ton and then never wear it because it's hidden away in my draws! I popped into Homesense (the living part of TkMaxx) and picked up a few things.
These are the best things ever! Acrylic table toppers- in the store they had a majority of sizes and shapes so you could get one to fit whatever you needed! i got a medium sized one which was £7.99 which i thought was a bargain! I thought this would be perfect to put everyday makeup in so it's easy to grab in a hurry. Below i've placed the majority of my everyday makeup in and it displays it all perfectly. Also an added bonus is that it is made from acrylic which is super easy to wipe clean! I will definitely be purchasing more of these.

Another thing i tend to do is recycle old containers. I had a Yankee candle that had ran out (sobs) and the size is perfect to keep brushes in, also whenever i take a brush out it releases the scent of the previous candle! I decided to follow the trend of the 'jam jar' storage as i thought this was cute and oh-so-chic, i picked this one up from Wilkinsons for about £2.50 and i think it just adds a quirky edge to my dressing table.

How do you store your make-up and what would you recommend?

Plain white tee

A must in every girls wardrobe- a plain white t-shirt. Unfortunately in a tragic ironing accident my trusty tee was burnt to a crisp, so in the bin it went. I thought i'd just replace it by nipping into New Look on my way home, as a New Look employee it's my go to for everything! As i was browsing the rails i came across a white tee with a twist, the t-shirt i picked up was slightly cropped and had a bobble effect however, the bottom of the tee and the sleeves were trimmed in chiffon. I thought this just gave a trusty original a sweet and summery twist.
(i also picked up these cute little earrings which i thought would be the perfect statement jewelry  to dress up this tee)

What would you pair with a cropped white tee? Please leave your ideas in the comments below!!

BIG HAIR!

Big hair has always been a part of my life, from being a backcombed 13 year old, to rocking huuuuge wavy curls on night out. So i thought i'd talk about two of my favourite hair products recently that i now could not live without! The first i picked up a few months ago as it seemed to be the trend and that is Charles Worthington rough & tousled salt spray (about £5.99) now this stuff is great for giving your hair slight texture if you're not feeling the poker straight vibes. The only thing wrong is that it leaves your hair feeling quite stiff (remember when you were little and you'd get ice cream or something stuck in your hair?) and if you're not careful you might end up with a bit of a tat, so use it in moderation! Next item i found was the Tresemme salon fresh hairspray, i only bought a travel size bottle of this- for testing purposes but i love it, living in England, the only weather you get is wind and rain. This protects your hair from both!! After neglecting my hair and only using Boots own make hairspray for years (I KNOW) this is like heaven in small canister form!
I added a small amount before going to work last night and just styled my hair by scrunching it and adding hairspray- no backcombing needed!!

February favourites

Asif it's almost march already!! I swear it was Christmas only a few weeks ago.. So the time has come to crawl back through my brain and pick out the best materialistic things i have wondered upon this month. I thought i'd go for beauty products that have most stood out for me this month.
First of all let us discuss makeup- a close and personal thing to my own heart. This month i've decided to go on a fake tan ban, so obviously i needed new foundation (well i wanted some anyways. I've heard loads of people raving about the rimmel wake me up foundation and now myself am a huge fan! It just makes your skin look soo fresh and i hardly need any, for an everyday foundation i'd definitely recommend this one! The coverage is medium to full but its still perfect for that spring glow. Next thing i bought was the Collection lasting perfection concealer, now normally i go for stick concealers but never again!! This is perfect to blend in with your foundation, even just as an under eye highlighter it just makes you look and feel fresher! As i am a bargain maniac, of course boots were on 3 for 2 when i purchased these, so i decided to grab a new everyday eyeliner as sometimes i find my mac one quite fiddly to use, i just picked up collection's new felt tip liner- AMAZING!! For £1.99 i didn't expect a lot but its brilliant! I also grabbed a new Real Techniques brush as i love these, my collection is growing very quickly.. Next thing i picked up was a Revlon chubby stick, i've wanted a orange lipstick for ages but never have i been brave enough to try one, then these were released- for just being a pencil style balm they are quite highly pigmented and you can build the colour up as much or as little as you want, which was perfect for me as i was scared of the results and it's been in my makeup bag ever since.

until next time m'lovelies

Mini London haul

Spring is approaching us quicker than ever (well it seems that way) and as i sat, staring into my extremely crammed wardrobe, what was i thinking?- There's room in there for more!! So ofcourse, Oxford street was the perfect excuse to scratch my little plastic debit card even more- i'm not even joking i swear the chip side is thinner now! Here's a few of my favorites from my trip away:

My first stop was Superdrug (strangely as i have one five minutes away from home). Everybody has been ranting and raving about Sleeks contour kits so i thought i'd give it a go, i have to say it has to be one of the best things I've purchased! At the bargain price of £6.49 i thought it may not be as good as everyone said it was, but i was soon proved wrong! I definitely need to stock up. Alongside this i purchased a few Real Techniques brushes, i only bought my first one the other week and i already want a full set! I need more!!! *crazy old woman voice*
Next on my adventure was Bershka. Now we used to have one of these in the shopping center near where i live but for some reason it dissapeared- this shop is amazing. I have to say i did spend quite a bit in here (but that's okay), this bag is the perfect size as i am one of those "fill your bag to the brim of random crap" kind of people, i can't be the only one can i? It has a few small pockets and a detachable long strap which is perfect for school or if you have a lot on your hands! Another thing i love about this bag is the texture, i mean i don't just go around stroking bags but you know, i just couldn't resist. How can i explain it, its sort of a matte soft leather, but not as soft as suede so it is super easy to wipe clean!!

Working in New Look it's quite hard to resist having a sneak peek in other stores to see what it's like (and of course abuse my discount card)!! i picked up a couple of things in here but this is my favourite by far, kimonos are such a great thing just to throw on at home or on holiday over a cami and jeans or a on top of a bikini! this one is about knee length on me (short person problems) so i just teamed it with a black cami, waxed jeans and leather ankle boots with a small heel. Very festival-chique.

And last but DEFINITELY not least, is this beautiful barbie pink shift dress from River Island in the Chelsea Girl range. Now according to my (very knowledgeable) mother Chelsea Girl was a shop in the 70's-80's which is now known as River Island *light bulb goes off*. This little number was only £25 and is perfectly made, for the price there is no shabby workman ship, it is beautifully finished. The low cut front and cute pockets on either side keep in tone with the ranges era perfectly. And just to make it even prettier, a small black and gold flower buttons acts as a perfect fastening onto of the teardrop cut out piece on the back.

hello 2014

Well, i have to say 2013 has been by far the best year of my life to date. I've created better relationships with my friends, partially extended my group and became more daring. It's so easy to sit here now and say i'm pretty much happy with everything in my life now, although i still feel like the youngest person on earth i'm proud of what I've achieved, new job, alright-ish grades and the amount of exciting things i have to look forward too this year. I mean, it's not like i'm going to be getting a super cool car, apartment or anything soon but i am going to IBIZA- i know!! with a friend and going to Kings Of Leon. And that's about as much excitement i can handle. In may i'll be finishing my first year of sixth form and moving onto the next, in year 13 my ambition is to save up enough money throughout so i can afford to go travelling as much as i want (if i take a gap year). I'm rambling now so i suppose i should stop on this topic.
